Highlight Japanese words you don't know, while you read.

Install — iPhone / iPad (Safari)

  1. Install the free Userscripts app from the App Store.
  2. Open Settings > Apps > Safari > Extensions, enable Userscripts, and allow it on all websites.
  3. Open this page in Safari and tap the install link below, then confirm in the Userscripts popup.

Same steps with the macOS Userscripts app, or use the Chrome Web Store version in Chrome.

How to use

  1. Open a Japanese page (e.g. Aozora Bunko).
  2. Tap the book button at the bottom-right corner, then enable this site.
  3. Unknown words get tinted. Tap a word to look it up or mark it as known.

Sync across devices

Your known-words list stays on your device by default. An annual subscription (¥2,000/year) syncs it across iPhone, iPad and Mac via an activation code. Coming soon.

Privacy
